Officer Hall
Lifesaving Award
On August 11, 2021, you were dispatched to 232 West 5th Street for a male subject who was overdosing on narcotics. Upon arriving, you observed that the subject was found to be unresponsive as well as being in respiratory distress. You learned from other subjects present that the male subject ingested both valium & Percocet approximately 25 minutes before the 911 call.
You recognized that the subject was overdosing on opioids and subsequently administered two doses of Naloxone to the subject. You then maintained the subject’s airway and attempted to get a verbal response from the subject until emergency medical services arrived on scene. The subject was then transported to the hospital for treatment and survived the overdose due to your quick actions at the scene.
On behalf of the City of Cherokee, you are being presented with this Life Saving Award for your actions in saving this subject’s life, which are in keeping with the highest standards of law enforcement and which bring great credit to yourself and the Cherokee Police Department.
Thank you for your outstanding performance and dedication to your profession!
